UNFINISHED JOB FOR MINNITT
After competing for close to forty years on a bike first and then in a car in the different South African cross-country championships, Geoff Minnitt finally ticked that box of his bucket list by taking part in the Dakar. Unfortunately the businessman from Plettenberg Bay saw his Saudi adventure end after only four days of racing due to a crash. Minnitt who has always had a passion for off-road adventures returns as part of the South Racing Can Am team. After his unfortunate first attempt the 64-year-old prepared by competing in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge that he finished in 4th spot and six rounds of the South-African Cross-country Series. For this second Dakar, Minnitt will be helped out by Gerhard Snyman who is yet to discover the rally.
